Looking for a Concord PS5, PC beta guide revealing how to access it, the start times, and what you can play prior to the full launch? As one of Sony's first live-service shooters to hit the market, there is a curiosity surrounding Concord that is largely going to be satisfied by an upcoming beta available one month before release. In this Concord guide, we'll cover the PS5, PC beta, discussing how to access it, all the start times, and what you can play during the pre-release test.
Concord Beta: How to Access
- PS Plus members can play during the early access weekend
- Pre-order the game to gain five early access beta codes for you and your friends to use.
- An open beta available for everyone follows one week later.
When you gain access to the Concord beta is determined by whether you pre-order the game on PS5 and PC or not, or if you know someone who has. By pre-ordering the game, you are automatically given five beta codes. You can use one of them to gain early access, inputting the code into the PS Store. You're then free to give the other four beta codes to your friends so you can squad up and play together. This lets you play in the early access weekend of the beta, running from 12th to 14th July 2024.
If you haven't pre-ordered the game and don't know anybody who has you can get a code from, you'll need to wait for the open beta weekend from 18th to the 21st July 2024. At this point, anyone will be free to download the Concord beta and give it a try. You'll just have to download it from the PS Store.
Concord Beta: All Start Times
- Early Access Weekend
- 12th - 14th July 2024
- Open Beta
- 18th - 21st July 2024
If you pre-order the game or obtain a Concord beta code from a friend, you will be able to take part in both the early access weekend and open beta phases. This lets you start playing from 12th July 2024 until the 14th. You can then jump back in again from the 18th until 21st July 2024. The Concord beta will be live for the early access weekend from the following times:
- North America: 10am PDT / 11am MDT / 12pm CDT / 1pm EDT
- UK/Ire: 6pm BST
- Europe: 7pm CEST / 8pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 2am (Sat) JST / 1am (Sat) AWST / 3am (Sat) AEST
Concord Beta: What You Can Play
- All 16 Freegunner characters will be available to try.
- Four maps will be available, with a fifth added during the open beta.
- Three modes will be available, with a fourth added during the open beta.
Firewalk Studios has revealed the complete launch roster of 16 Freegunners will be playable in the Concord beta, which lets you get to grips with every character available on day one. You could take any one of them into battle on four maps across three modes, which extends to five maps and four modes respectively once the open beta phase begins.
The maps you can play are Freewater, Water Hazard, Star Chamber, and Shock Risk. You will also get Bone Mines in the open beta:
Concord Beta Maps
- Freewater
Set in a fortified outpost on the sun-scorched planet of Glance, Freewater features intersecting perimeter lanes and a large central courtyard in the middle of the map that serves as a prime convergence point and inspires intense combat engagements.
- Water Hazard
On the stormy water-covered planet of Leviathan, a massive, armored eel, known as a Morack, has been caught and is being harvested on a large floating fishing rig. Players will fight across the platform and within the jaws of the Morack in a primary harvesting site.
- Star Chamber
Located atop the tallest mountain on the planet Gloom sits an ancient observatory with narrow corridors and a meteorite at the center, which creates great opportunities for team fights and one-on-one battles.
- Shock Risk
Located beneath a massive conductive kite in the sky that harvests lightning on the planet Leviathan, Shock Risk features multiple unique arenas for battling with rival crews with pathways that converge on a large center tower.
- Bone Mines
The remains of massive vastadons on the tropical planet Akkar have become the site of a lucrative Guild mining operation, where you will fight through the excavated bones and mining caverns in a mix of close-quarters and mid-range combat.
The modes you can play are Trophy Hunt, Cargo Run, and Clash Point. When the open beta starts, Area Control will also be available:
Concord Beta Modes
- Trophy Hunt
A respawn-based mode where you fight to take down members of the rival crew and collect their bounty cards to earn points for your team. The first team to reach the target score before time runs out wins the match.
- Cargo Run
A no-respawn mode where teams compete to retrieve the Blue Buddy robotic package delivery system, plant it at one of the zones, and defend it from the rival crew to win.
- Clash Point
A round-based, no-respawn game mode where teams compete to control a single capture zone at a central location on the map.
- Area Control
A respawn mode where teams compete to control multiple capture and control zones around the map. Control two or more zones to increase your team’s score and reach the point threshold to win.

Removed - unconstructive
not gonna lie , it seems like they’re setting themselves up for failure
-pay for beta
-pay to play game with mtx skins
-Only on PS5 and PC when its competitors are on all platforms and free
edit - still optimistic about it though , i need a overwatch killer
@nomither6 eh, you can still play the beta without pre-ordering, just a bit later
I'm not into this kind of games, so I'll most likely skip it entirely, but previews seemed to say it's doing some things right
Looks generic and a bit bland but I’m optimistic and looking forward to playing the open beta. Definitely not prepared to preorder on what’s been shown so far but it’s got potential and decent team behind it. I really hope it’s a fun game and sleeper hit. New IP and Sony first person exclusive, I have my fingers crossed for it to be fun.
I’m not pre ordering but looking forward to playing the open beta and judging the game based on how it plays rather than how it looks.
Two years of support tops, then mothballing and eventual server culling
Well, I'm looking forward to trying it!
@nomither6 I thought Overwatch 2 killed Overwatch?
This will be fun to watch.
it looks so generic even for a free to play game let alone one you have to pay for
Hopefully that gunplay is tight as hell cause it looks like this game needs all the good things it can get.
I’ll pass thanks.
@LikelySatan hahaha you’re right , it did.
but it’s not dead enough
Oh so it's not a movie? I thought it was a movie.
@Frmknst did you try googling an answer?
When the cut scenes looked ten times better and more interesting than the gameplay itself I'm gonna pass.
Give me a single player third person action adventure game of which PlayStation is known for set in that world. With the humour and you probably would of got a stellar game.
But a 5 v 5 hero shooter with cut scenes, I'm out.
Must have really low pre-order numbers is the first thing I thought about when this was announced. Anyways, i'll try it but im not excited going into it.
Not particularly excited about this game, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about it. It'll live or die by the quality of the gameplay. In terms of the artistic aesthetic, I actually think this game has a leg up on Overwatch.
I feel like I'm missing something i can't find link to download and I'm ps plus member
@B-I-G-DEVIL
Yup I just looked everywhere for a Beta download to pre DL it for tomorrow n its not anywhere on console.
I didn't preorder, just a part of PS+.
Kinda feel like no one signed up/pre ordered the game that is why they opened it up to all of PS+... Without putting the beta anywhere on the console home screen isn't helping either haha
Does Anyone know if it's this weekend or next weekend for ps plus?
@Frmknst I suggest reading properly.
@dschons what had he read wrong and me? It says this on article PS Plus members can play during the early access weekend
It's available FYI
@Hi569 Yes, they can. But they can't do the early pre-load. It's live now.
I'm not really feeling confident to invest money or time when similar games are free to play.
Some minutes in the beta aaaand uninstalled
Why the f does a "cinematic multiplayer" by Naughty Dog get cancelled and generic deathmatch bs like this... So beyond sad
Played 2 games and that was enough for me.
Been playing for an hour (after a 15 minute cinematic) and oof, this might be the most unappealing PS Studios game in a long, long time if not ever.
As someone who has played Overwatch, Halo, CoD and Fortnite more time than I’d like to admit the first thought that comes to mind is that the gameplay feels slow for this type of game and well, something free like Overwatch already has a much better feeling gameplay with similar experience, it also feels bland so my guess is that it will quickly become repetitive, there’s some characters that are useless (as it’s often with these games), the UI is atrocious, but graphics and overall performance feels solid.
I put an hour into the Beta and I really tried to like it. Gunplay is not as satisfying as I thought it would be, just way below the levels of Destiny 2, which I thought would have been met with so many people that worked on that at Firewalk. No, this game isn’t for me at all. If this has been a story driven game with multiplayer bolted on, I would have been all in. Sadly I’m all out.
after playing it this im pretty surprised sony made such a magnolia game so dull and uninspiring
