@Jaz007: personally thought the plot of SPECTRE was okay but fairly poorly played out. Good production as per usual. Hot Rod is amazing, if you haven't watched Office Space you'd probably enjoy that too, I'd suggest Freddie Got Fingered but you may not enjoy that one.

I recently watched Ex Machina, and holy god was it good. I've never seen a movie portray AI and the ethics of it as good as this once, and it's a consistently good film so I'd recommend it

I just saw Sweeney Todd. It was a really good movie. The music, humor, story, and acting are all pretty good. The only things I'm unsure about are: I'm not really sure they have enough reason and character development to Todd becoming a serial killer for a cannibalistic operation. Maybe I just need watch the movie again, but it might have just been too random and poorly explained. The other was the ending. I'm not sure if I like how the little bit killed Todd at the end. Other than that though, I quite liked it. It'd recommend it to anyone likes musicals, especially if they're interested in a darker one.

Watched a few movies today with the family for Christmas.

First one I watched was Monster U which is the sequel to Monster INC and I enjoyed it alot. For me it was about equal to the first one wasn't better but it wasn't worst either. Then again don't know any bad Pixar movies.

The second was Jurassic World and I was enjoying it alot until the dang disc started skipping and freezing up, so we didn't get to finish it . From what I saw I like the little nods to the original JP and the action in here was great just wish I could have finished it.

@Anchorsam_9: Watched ex machina a week or so ago, weird film. The ending was clever, very clever.

Other films Elf, finding nemo and jingle all the way. Ot was truly terrible viewing them altogether.

Ex machina was good but not great, Her is a decent movie if you like Ai, it doesn't have any robots in it though, also the TV show Humans is pretty decent.

We watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve, as per tradition.

That film never gets old.

Ex machina was a good movie and I enjoyed the way the movie played out. I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time in about 15 years last night I had watched it many times before. But last night was the first time I really appreciated how well the movie is directed and how good the dialogue is.

I enjoyed Her as well. How it potrayed love and what love means in a digital age is a question we will be asking in the near future.

@RR529: Great shout, saw it again on Christmas Eve, used to watch it loads on video as a kid. Literally just watched the intro sequence on youtube again, brilliant! Cant wait to see it again next year haha

Watched 22 Jump Street. Funny, the bit with Ice cube and Jonah Hill in the police office was funny as you would know what Im talking about but I would 100% spoil the story. The lame jealousy stuff really wore thin later on but its a great follow up.

I liked both the Jump Street movies. Sometimes those types of movies can be hit and miss but they were funny to watch. I liked the ending of 22 jump street. Jonah Hill does some good movies

Has anyone seen The Hateful Eight yet? It's a brilliant film, it's always good when you walk out of the cinema with a big grin on your face.

Has anyone seen Creed? Film looks good and is out here soon so might go see it. Heard a new term for movies "guy cry" never heard that before but apparently Creed is a guy cry movie.

@dryrain: It's brillant, if you liked the Rocky movies you will enjoy Creed. It stays true to the series which is really nice.

Love all the Rocky's, can't wait to see Creed.

I only found out recently that the main boxer (I suppose is name his something Creed? What, Creed Junior?) is played by Wallace from The Wire. That kid got big!!

Really looking forward to Deadpool next month. Based on the trailers, Ryan Reynolds' is nailing it as the merc with mouth. Hopefully the movie is good as well.

Earlier today we watched Tomorrowland.

Overall I thought it was pretty decent, and I liked the old school looks of the future world, which I thought was pretty neat.

I missed the first few minutes however, and we watched it on the PS3 (I don't like doing so because for some reason, dark scenes are so dark you can barely see what's going on when we watch DVDs or Netflix on it), so I'd like to watch it again in better conditions if I get the chance.

To highlight the darkness issue. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy on the PS3, and in an early scene while in some ruins, Star Lord jumped over what looked like a pitch black bottomless pit, and I didn't think anything of it. Later that weekend my bro watched it on the 360, and I clearly saw that the pit was filled with sloshing water, with a giant serpent swimming in it, and I had no idea that was there the first time I watched it (with the overall picture quality being brighter as well).

I think it's because the PS3 (slim model) is hooked up with the basic component cables that came with it (only display in SD, of course), while our 360 (also a slim) is hooked up using the HD Composite cables that came with our original model 360.

Whatever happens DO NOT WATCH 10 years the reunion. Its possibly up there with worst film ever like Prometheus. Terrible switched it off after 50 minutes, unlikable characters, terrible filming, poor acting, rubbish script. One of the worst films ever.
