@RogerRoger
Thanks! Not as steady as I'd like, I have to do a lot of corrections but it's very enjoyable.

I enjoyed reading your story, it is a real shame when there are such bad teachers, makes you wonder how they got the job in the first place.

@RogerRoger As far as Dreams, I only made it so far as to “stick my head in the door” sort of thing. I did muck around with the tools through the beginning tutorials for a while, but that’s about it so far. The first stage of creation is the basic act of learning to make some objects to decorate your home space and that simple task proved to be difficult enough that I couldn’t even fathom trying to create a game yet. But I can see how practice would help, because part of the challenge is just getting the controls down to manipulate 3D objects in space. The game does as good a job as can be expected but it’s still a lot to wrap your head around. So in the case if Dreams it requires both artistic talent and technical skill, which I guess is true of most computer based art. I’ve not completely given up on a potential masterpiece game creation living dormant inside me, but it’s a stretch for sure.

@ralphdibny Wow, that’s a crazy story! Can’t say I’ve ever had a teacher like that!

@Anti-Matter Very creative work there! I love that 😄

Being the resident teacher on the Ol' PushSquare forums I feel rather ashamed hearing the "horror" stories from @RogerRoger & @ralphdibny of terrible teachers.

In particular that's really saddening Rog hearing about your interest in art vanishing to such a pompus, pretencious a$$... That really grinds my gears 😡

As for Art and me.. I'm not good at it in the slightest. I'd either spend my break/lunch tracing something good on a board or get my teaching assistant to do it as I can barely draw better then the kids I teach 😅

Nice stuff @Anti-Matter with the comic... My favourite of the art you've posted

The figurines you painted look really good @LieutenantFatman

The clay cyclops you did is pretty impressive @Zuljaras & the screenshots from the game you're making are very good too!

Good stuff everyone!

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy ah no worries, at least for me. She had no real effect on me apart from offering amusing anecdotes for me to share. At the end of the day, like any profession, teachers are just people. Which means that you will get all sorts of people doing it, d***heads, supportive people, people with a good sense of humour, stoic examples of good society etc. With that, you also get to see all those people on good days and bad days so it varies a lot. No doubt it's confusing when your a kid and these people are basically the law, but especially in my teenage years I came to appreciate them as actual people and not just someone who tells me what to do for 50 minutes a day. Going to sixth form at the same secondary school helped too because everything became a bit more of a laugh and everyone got to know eachother better and we'd go for drinks with the teachers sometimes once we turned 18. Some teachers were only 6 years different in age to us at that point. It does make me question people who make these sweeping statements like "police are bad" because like teachers, police are just people, you get good ones and you get bad ones.

@Th3solution that's not even the craziest story from my school years. I look back on them so fondly even though they were an epic struggle when I was that age. I've always thought that if I could time travel back and keep the knowledge I had now, I'd go back to being a kid and just make more of the time I had back then instead of just constantly wanting to be an adult. Being an adult sucks so hard!

@RogerRoger ah no not at all! As I said to @Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy , it didn't affect me that much so all good really. I had much more trying times in school in other areas but overall it really was the best time of my life and I'd give anything to go back to being young again!

@Zuljaras oh yeah I wanted to say your game and other art/sculptures are awesome!

@Anti-Matter your covid sketch is actually pretty cool!

See ya!

Th3solution

@ralphdibny Well said. I have had similar thoughts. You don’t know how great it is to be a kid while you have it. I’ve remained a kid in my head, but stupid society expects me to act like an adult and be all responsible and stuff. I regret having those expectations.

@Anti-Matter Nice job on the Chibis. I also like that style. Well it amuses me anyway. Here's one my daughter drew up for me real quick some time ago...

@Th3solution same here! It's like being a kid now but consequences for actions as an adult are much more dire than a Friday night detention spent throwing rubbers around while the teachers not looking!

@LieutenantFatman You like those sort of tabletop games in addition what we traditionally conceptualize as rpgs on here then?

Most definitely, nothing quite like sharing a story while sitting round a table with some friends. It's a great experience.

@RogerRoger @Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy
Thank you both for the kind words! I'll be doing some more painting over the weekend. I'm quite happy with them, although I feel there is huge amount of room for improvement. But they do say we are our own worst critics!

I drew Anthro Red Crown Crane as Avian Kickboxer.
He is one of Legend 4 of Avian Kickboxer.
Here i show you behind the process.

The reason i named him Tsurugi because he was a crane and in Japanese crane = tsuru and i chose honor = gi and at the same time tsurugi in Japanese = sword and thus i gave him his signature move Sword Dance Kick.

@Everyone I really love pretty much all contributions here. Whenever I have time I might reply to them individually, but that's not too easy on my phone. Please keep them coming

@Anti-Matter Wow, super cool to see the work in progress. Helps to appreciate the amount of work that goes in the drawing of just one character.
