Bokeh Game Studio is taking to the Summer Game Fest live stage today to share more about its horror title Slitterhead, but it's already gone and spilt the beans by accidentally uploading the first gameplay trailer ahead of time. It's now been pulled, but it revealed a PS5, PS4 release date of 8th November 2024. A mirror of the new trailer can be watched here on Gematsu.
We'll update this article once the trailer is officially shared, but it showcased a look at what appears to be an important mechanic in the game. Similar to what you'd see in Forbidden Siren — a series the creators of Slitterhead previously made — you can sort of jump between different characters in the environment and view the world through their eyes and ears. There are also some combat clips and traversal elements.
Were you expecting Slitterhead to release as soon as this November? Let us know in the comments below.

I LOVE the creature designs. The gameplay though? Eh.....
Seems a lot clunky, the trailer surely not make it shine
This looks amazing. Janky, as expected, but super cool. Love the Hong Kong backdrop!
I can’t wait to watch this and I’m looking forward to seeing what this game is like.
Edit: well, after seeing the trailer, I’m now a little bit on the fence about this one. I was hoping this would be a horror game rather than something that resembles Bamco action titles.
Siren series usually had a good story, but the games themselves did their best to make it impossible to enjoy.
it's first reveal made it look like a survival horror game in a silent hill and RE Virus outbreak like vibe but now it feel like a dark fantasy RPG designs are really cool but the action and combat needs to go back I the oven for more cooking
Settings looks cool, but the combat looks a bit rough..Hope it got good depth to it..
Plenty of jank, but it's definitely on my spectrum of weird!
I will definitely keep it on my radar - even if it is to give this studio support for future endeavors!
This definitely looks like something Japan Studio would have released back in the day. I'm intrigued!
Looks weird enough for me, but I hoped for more (body) horror and less action.
The game has a pretty interesting gimmick, being able to switch between people to fight the monsters. Janky, yes, but it looks really interesting.
Let us hope for a physical edition. This is right up my alley. Survival horror, flashbacks to Siren and a touch of soulslikes.
Hopefully the jank can be kept under control. This kind of close quarters combat requires stability and a fine touch.
This looked SUPER janky. Not a huge issue when you're a slow burn survival horror game with a focus on atmosphere (Silent Hill), but much more so for action horror.
This looks terrible from a gameplay standpoint 🤢
I can't not think of the LSM crew where I hear about this game.
@Jedihillis The Slitts will be over the moon, I'm sure.
That is one hell of a disappointment. What a garbage trailer.
The designs are so cool though 🥲
@Solingo_Bill Just watched and wow you weren't kidding, it is janky as hell looking. A lot of the animations either look stiff or lack impact and weight to their attacks.
This is right up my strasse fo sho
Yea... no my cup of tea.
Honestly, if this was showcased by the now closed Japan Studios as their next new game most of the reactions here would have been more in the negative side about this game. Anyone thinking otherwise, it is just delusional.
At the end of the day, people ask for "unique" ideas like this and/or more AA games, but in reality they won't actually support them.... they will always find excuses not to, like price point, animation quality and jank, etc...
Lol at people who scream the gameplay is janky as if they never played Keichiro Toyama games like Silent Hill 1, Siren, and Gravity Rush. You guys wants more unique AA games and less AAA cinematic games right then embrace the jankiness, especially when this one developed by a small devs with limited budget.
Anyway. I didn't expect it will have a lot of action since the first trailer feels like a survival horror game. Monster design looks creepy though. But i see Toyama bring the "sightjacking" from Siren but with some twist.
Yeah… This trailer is not doing Slitterhead any favors. I was pumped for this, but after seeing this combat trailer, not so much… They might want to delay this one.
Game looks like a Scarlet Nexus and Ghostwire Tokyo mash up.
So much jankiness, and this is the best bits they put in the trailer, can expect alot worse on release.
@ultimateotaku91 OMG yes
@PuppetMaster No, I've played Gravity Rush and it was definitely more fluid than this. Just delay it and improve upon the janky parts of the game. Also just because this is a unique game doesn't mean it's somehow devoid of criticism. The mind jacking looks interesting and cool and the monster designs look awesome, but those animations need to be more polished especially when it is an action game.
@Nepp67 Gravity Rush has a lot of janky and i played + finished both games. In fact, a lot of Japan Studios games has janky. From ICO, SotC, TLG, Siren, GR, Ape Escape, etc.
Criticsm is okay but you should expect jankiness from AA games developed by a small team with limited budget.
@PuppetMaster I've played and finished 1 and some of 2. Gravity Rush is a lot more fluid animations in comparison to this. Some jank is fine but this has a lot in its combat which isn't good. When I'm playing an action game I do not want it to feel stiff and weightless. Im hoping by the time it comes out it will be somewhat more polished.
To say this wasn't what I was expecting would be a gross understatement. This looks awful. Like Wanted: Dead levels of bad.
I had no idea what this game was, hadn't really followed it.
So 1st impressions and all that.....
Huh??? That trailer was nonsense, the really shallow "smack...." combat didn't help
could pass for an oddball ps3 game. as a fan of siren, pretty disappointed with the final result here to be honest.
Looks like a budget PS3 game.
