Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is out now (we quite enjoyed it), and in a continuation of Atlus's unlikely collaboration with American heavy metal band Slipknot, several members of that outfit have gathered to offer their thoughts on identity, masks, and SMT V.

It's surreal to see Clown, one of the group's founding members, calmly discussing the design of demons in Atlus' relatively niche RPG series. It's a far cry from the energetic role the nightmarish hype-man usually performs onstage, where his smashing a steel keg with a baseball bat is an actual part of multiple songs.

The band members discuss the power of masks and how powerful they can be as a symbol. Honestly, they don't really talk about the game much, which is why it's such a bizarre crossover. Either someone at Atlus is a major fan of Slipknot or vice versa, but either way, we're glad to have disappeared down this particular rabbit hole.

Do you see Slipknot and the SMT series as natural allies, what with their shared love of demons, metal, and masks? Let us know in the comments section below.
