Rumour: LEGO Horizon Adventures Is a PS5, PC Game from Day One, Reveal at Summer Game Fest Tomorrow

But if its not made by a Sony Studio or a close Second Party then it makes sense if it's coming PC day one. Sony only want single player "Playstation Studios" games to be exclusive to console for a set period whilst multiplayer games are day one.

Really curious to see what this is.

Honestly, didn't expect that but i really appreciate.
"Simple" games like this or Astrobot are really fun (really, you should try lego games even if you are a grown ass adult) and PS is lacking games for a younger audience.
They really are putting a lot of effort to diversify the PS exclusives

Locking out other platforms for a Lego game is such a pathetic move if this turns out to be true.

I feel like I'm the only person in my circle of friends who is into this idea and sees why it exists. And it being on PC day one makes sense since it has multiplayer.

No interest in this game, but Sony does really have a great lineup this year.

I'm definitely interested in this game. Alittle surprised it's not on PS4 as well but no big deal.

Hmm. I will probably buy it on day one, but this would be the first lego game based on a adult only franchise, right?

With this rumour and the Borderlands 4 rumour I'm now actually looking forward to watching SGF, and yes I know i may be setting myself up for disappointment.

Sony already said no new major IP releases for April 2024 - March 2025. Horizon is a major IP so wouldn't that mean the earliest it can arrive is April 2025?

Maybe these posts should have some spoiler title warnings. Some might not want the learn about any leaks before watching these announcement shows.

But surely instead of the garabage state of play show we got with only 2 PlayStation games, then why save a game like this for someone else's show?

@UltimateOtaku91 Nah, just enjoy yourself. As much as I dislike Geoff, the ads, and his business entourage (that sit on the board with him), this festival is one of the best ways devs can share their projects. They usually start and end with something noteworthy, so there’s always a couple games to look forward to after it’s over. Have fun!

I’ve tried several Lego games but I can’t get into them for some reason. With that said, this does sound like a cool project. It seems like the perfect fit due to the color palette of the game and the numerous dinosaurs at play. Perhaps I’ll pick the game up for my daughter and see what she thinks about it!

@WizzNL Right? I hate that everything leaks. Either you just go dark for weeks leading up to shows or you’re going to see the show before it airs. So stupid.

The worst idea I’ve heard in a long long time. And not even because it’s a Lego game, because it’s a Horizon game. I was looking forward to what seemed like a big project that TT were involved in, only for it to seemingly be this.

I played almost all the other Lego games with my young daughter. I'm looking forward to this one. I really like the Horizon series. My daughter has never played Horizon, but she has seen me play it and thinks the robot dinosaurs are awesome.

I'm actually interested in this. I love Lego (looking at my lego tallneck now), and I really enjoy Horizon. My main question is why Sony would put this in summer game fest rather than their own State of Play. This would have definitely improved the overall show imo

@Shepherd_Tallon @WizzNL I think has contributed to the general feeling of disappointment from showcases nowadays. There is less excitement for a 'reveal' when you know it's coming.
I loathe this 'insider', I know things, spoiling of events.

Tbf this is a better idea than the remake / remaster that's rumoured. At least this can be something different.

So is it just like a re-telling of the original story just in lego form?

Lego and Sony both purchased significant shares in Epic at the same time and I'd be surprised if this was not part of that discussion and agreement back then.
Either way, it's an interesting game conceptually, not sure I'm getting it, but I'll try!

What I don't get is why Sony didn't show this at their own show? I'm also getting a bit of de-ja vu as last year at sonys showcase they left out the Spider man 2 release date and the Final Fantasy 7 ReBirth trailer and revealed them at the SGF instead.

Could they be partnering with Epic? Since epic makes the Lego Fortnite? And Sony owns a huge chunk of Epic.

I guarantee you that if there's a Mario or Zelda Lego game, you won't be playing it on your PS5. Or your PC, for that matter, since Nintendo is the one remaining company that believes in actual exclusivity for their games.

@Grumblevolcano I think many people took the comment too literally or misunderstood. There are also different paraphrases of the subject.

It's reasonable to assume what they meant was sequels or major new entries to major IP's. While Horizon is a major IP, this would not qualify as a major entry.

@UltimateOtaku91 Sony have a history of leaving something for the GeoffCons. Presumably so they can show stuff to a more "neutral" audience.

Lets hope we get more lego dino machines. The tallneck is awesome.

I do get why it would work with Lego, the whole "remove objects part" but usually this works well with franchises that the game is based on (movie e.c.t) we already have a better more realistic Horizon, so I'm not sure who their target audience is for this one.. if it was made available across the board, switch, xbox e.c.t with cross play, it could work really well and gather a new audience, but closing it to just PS5 and PC just doesnt make sense to me.

I'm curious how this game looks. Should be pretty fun considering how Lego games usually are.

TT games owns the rights to all the Lego games and they are owned by Warner Media so is this game even being published by playstation? I may be wrong but this is probably just a Lego game that's using the Horizon IP but it isn't actually being published by Playstation.

@BusyOlf Horizon is a Sony IP which is why this one is exclusives. I'm sure Nintendo and MS will do the same if they make Lego Zelda or Lego Halo.

Anyway. I enjoyed Lego Batman and Marvel Super Heroes so i might interested to play this one.

But yeah, leakers really make a lot of gaming event less fun because there's no surprise anymore. That's what happened to E3. Imagine you paid tons of money to have booth and presscon at LA Convention Center. But day -1 before the presscon, your games got leaked by someone. All your time and money to prepare your event became pointless because there's no more surprise.

But frankly I'm not a fan of franchise milking and diluting... it takes the value and excitement out of it bit by bit with each title release in such short time one after the other.
A few more of those and reactions will turn to "oh great, another Horizon game... meh"
Followed then either by a ton of years gap until an eventual reboot, or even worse, a permanent shelving of the entire thing.

This game actually seems interesting. More Horizon is always good. It's just strange it wouldn't have shown up at the State of Play.

The game doesn't make much sense, the fun part of lego based on franchises is playing and swapping out all your favorite characters, who are you going to play? Aloy? Erend? VArl? Sylens? Who else??

Not a fan of the Horizon games.

Something set in the Astrobot world, would have been more fitting for a Lego game. Throw in Ratchet and Clank in there as well.

If still true oh no Ratchet and Sackboy or Astro sell to smaller audiences. If it's a unique game sure, if it's a retelling of the 2017 game it's a joke product. I only cared about the story and even then I got so bored I quit the first game. 20 hours in. half way through the game as most things I understood about the game I didn't find fun enough.

I have no issue with games varying, or many cartoony, family friendly games. But pushing an IP this far is just annoying. Like I said, oh no our other IPs that fit that type didn't sell well. Well that's the audience problem (mainstream more than gamers) and the studio problem. I mean I haven't bought Sackboy, it's an OK Mario 3D World game, I will buy it eventually but it's too expensive. WipEout Rush I wouldn't support a worse B Spec/idle game experience. Give us a better manager game or WipEout game then I'd play it. They could have ported 2048 but no. They did to Omega Collection and changed music and things what other excuses can they make.

I did buy Ratchet (half and half contributed so less disappointment in the purchase) and it was trash and didn't succeed on what Crack in Time offered yet this game wants me to have a mentor multiverse story with trash ToD remade levels then ToD's better designed levels.

ToD/Crack elements in it yet it can't even do that right because Insomniac are lazy or their ideas have changed and weren't appealing at all. I get the budget and lacking sales but even still. They made a safe game and it still sold badly. No wonder Ratchets got shorter they put too much into other areas or change their minds too often or can't achieve what expectations they COULD offer of tech yet the PS3 game from 2009 on an HDD is more impressive and DOESN'T have marketing that's BS or are Marvel game forced future.

I get it Sony but seriously. XD Come on. A tv series is fair, merch sure but a Lego tie in and a Lego game because big IP that's teen rated yet also is Immortals Fenix Rising and that doesn't need a Lego game to lower it's themes or art style or light hearted writing. Age ratings don't count sure but it makes a point of how particular some things scale and HOW to present it to people. Even then with Immortals I'm finding it 'fine' but some 'do the story first' do halt the fun factor.

I mean it's not like many young girls didn't play Horizon let alone other people. We don't need this.

I loved the PS2 to Vita Lego games but the more recent ones have left me cold.
Never cared for Horizon so this a definite out for me.
