Does a 30-second trailer that shows basically nothing but a target release window really count as a teaser? We're not so sure, but that's all we've got to work with when it comes to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The project, which has been stop-start for years now, was acknowledged during Ubisoft's summer showcase. The title is now aiming for a 2026 launch.
A couple of months back, it was reported that the remake was still a long way from release, and that's clearly true. We're a long way from the game's original 2020 announcement, and the wait's far from over.
How do you feel about Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake at this point? Can you believe this trailer? Sit back down in the comments section below.

Kinda embarrassing that thats all theyve shown :/
Yeh ive given up hope on this.
It was always strange for me that they decided to put only their Indian studios to make this game, people from India are super talented when it comes to software but Prince of Persia was the face of the company before Assassins, it deserved heavy and experienced development power from the beginning.
Thankfully we've had two excellent Prince of Persia games this year, both of which are getting more content soon as well.
I know it's changed developer since it was announced (maybe several times), but by the time it comes out, it will have taken 6 years. By comparison, the Sands of time trilogy was released between 2003-2005, 1 a year. Will it sell enough to justify the development time? Probably not.
Was expecting a re-release of the old ones, but oh well
Not sure why they're even bothering...obviously there will be a PS5 version if they don't drop the PS4 one entirely
Why is this taking so long.....
That teaser was more of a statement. The version announced in 2020 had been cancelled and they started from the bottom in 2022 again. The flame extinguishing and getting ignited again represents this.
That teaser was pathetic
@Saucymonk they scrapped the remake every one hated and started completely over from the ground up with a different team.
Does this game really needs a remake when the PS2 still fun and fluid to play. Why not just remastered it along with the second and third game?
2026? What 😯 This has to be a joke 🤣
Another 2 years? I know everyone hated the first trailer coz it looked like a PS2 game. But it doesn't need to have super impressive graphics. It just needs to be as good as a PS3 game or better. I'd be happy with PS3 graphics, modern controls and it could have really high frame rates.
the only Ubislop game I'm even interested in anymore and I'm sure they'll ruin even that somehow.
Ubisoft: it exists, similar to beyond good and evil 2.
Gamers, oh God another decade to wait
2026? Lol. Perhaps we can forget about this remake for now
Calling this a teaser feels generous, it literally could have been for any game.
At this stage, they should just cancel it.
@AdamantiumPriest @JalapenoSpiceLife @Saucymonk @Cry_Zero The original remake was being handled by Ubisoft Pune & Mumbai and seems like it's been scrapped. Whereas the new remake is being handled by original development studio Ubisoft Montreal, who have a high bar for quality. Thought it's unclear if it is actually being developed by them or they are just managing subsidiaries, Ubisoft is so dispersed nowadays.
2026 is ages but better they do it right imo.
