Forgive us, we almost forgot Sea of Thieves is now also a PS5 game. Rare showcased Season 13 during the Xbox Showcase earlier this week, and we’ve just remembered the title is on Sony’s system, therefore we’re behest to write some kind of post. Not due out until 25th July, the update will include an all-new world event which will quite literally allow you to become the villain, as you commandeer Flameheart’s flagship.
To be honest, this is little more than a tease for now, with more information expected closer to release. Of course, it’s not going to do any real harm to the title’s popularity, which has been selling like crazy since it plundered PlayStation earlier in the year. To say the title’s been given a new lease of life would be an understatement – it rocketed up over 100 places in the most recent Circana sales report.

Better get into the habit Sammy lad, nearly everything will be coming over in time.
Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Push Square life for Sea of Thieves.

Tried it once on Xbox. Too many griefers. Never went back.
It’d be nice if Xbox still made games I enjoyed.
It’s a good one. Got real into it over the pandemic with a few buds on PC and it’s a lot of fun.
@AdamNovice source on that. Cause if it’s just rumors there are rumors saying Gears of War, South of Midnight, and many others are staying exclsuvie to the platform. With age of empires coming to PS5. Honestly i wish all the games would come out on all platforms and allow devs to make loads more money and have player lobbies full. We aren’t there quite yet.
@AdamNovice I mean, I wouldn't say that. Strategies can still change, but they're already working on the next generation and just showed off plenty of exclusives.
They definitely haven't decided on their exact approach yet. But as long as they keep making hardware, it's doubtful they'll go 100% in on PlayStation. Especially if PlayStation's contemporary dominance doesn't last.
“Forgive us, we almost forgot Sea of Thieves”
I forgive you.
@AdamNovice I think it’s quite irresponsible to claim and actually expect that everything from Xbox will come over, if something is clear is that nobody knows for sure, specially those pseudo-journalists who apparently come up with a daily rumor to see what sticks.
@HonestHick I'm curious If all games came out on all platforms and there were no exclusives what would be the selling point that would make you decide on which console to buy?
@Bagwag82 considering on PS and Xbox the exclusives only sell to around 10% at best for most of them. I’d say ask the other 90% of people why they buy what console they do. Now Nintendo is the odd one here cause Mario Kart sells 60 million so i think we know which exclusives matter and which don’t. Plus i ain’t saying all of them should be day and date. But what would a Last of us Part 1 hurt coming to Xbox now? It’s been on 3 PS consoles. Whoever wanted it has it. The show is red hot so likely it sells a million if not millions on Xbox and Sony get’s a nice sum of cash to produce something else newer and keep it to their platform. Don’t bring the next God of War day and date to Xbox. Let your fan base have that. But God of War 2018 would again sell millions on Xbox. Ask yourself this question. Would you stop buying a PS console if their games came to PC and Xbox? Unlikely… so why would very many else?
Xbox's showcase is now very much a PlayStation showcase too. At LEAST 15 of the 30 games announced are coming to PS5 and likely will be more after some sort of exclusivity window.
@Mustoe FYI they added a non-griefing mode.
@Bagwag82 have i spoke to honestly or you still making your decision?
@HonestHick I understand what you're saying about releasing older games later down the line. Makes sense.
But if that wasn't the case and all games released on all consoles day and date. How would we decide on which console to buy.
I guess it would all be down to unique features each console had and not the actual games.
@Bagwag82 Yeah day and date for some titles i don’t think happens, but if it did, then i would say the person would buy the console with the controller they like, games they have (BC). Maybe services etc etc. it wouldn’t crush them is my point. Most console buyers aren’t’ fanboys online. They just buy a console and play games. 😀
