Konami has revealed the first in-depth look at gameplay in the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake, titled on PS5 as Delta: Snake Eater. It includes shots of the Virtuous Mission as well as further into the game, showcasing stealth action as well as gunplay. Check it out above.
Interestingly, there's no mention of a release date, as the remake was recently rumoured to have been pushed back to 2025.
"In addition to the original play style and control scheme, players can elect for a newly added, more modern control style. The same gripping story and engrossing world, but with all new graphics and 3D audio that enhance the jungle atmosphere. Get ready for the ultimate survival stealth action experience."

Still looks soulless to me. The missing element is Kojima and always will be.
I’m all in, can’t wait for the ladder scene
It looks wonky or stiff at some moments. I hope the gameplay look more smooth closer to date.
The game has a lot of time to still cook, so I'm looking forward to it.
But it's also so good to hear Hayter voicing Snake again.
Yah looks so sterile. Not great.
Never played any of the mgs games (tried mgs1 and hated the 10 mins i played it) so these remakes are the best way for me to experience the mgs story. Cant wait
Anyone else watching the conference, I mean have playstatiom become lazy, or Microsoft pay the most money to be shown
@Bez87 It definitely feels like a pretty firm response to the (accurate) "Xbox have no good games anymore" of recent years. Along with the buying in of third-party, multiplatform reveals/trailers - even if they refuse to allow "PS5" to appear at the end of the trailer - Microsoft have put both the State of Play and SGF to shame so far. Microsoft learned from it, Sony evidently didn't and fell into the same trap.
Will be interesting to see in the coming days/weeks, once their initial PR "play it on gamepass" push fades, which of their titles will be coming our way.
Snake looks somewhat weird to me. Still looking forward to play the game.
Btw Xbox Showcase was fantastic. Sony, your turn. Thanks.
@Bez87 Three publishers in one showcase and xbox have way more money to pay for stuff to be shown although most are still a few years away and some game getting shown again after also being shown at last year's showcase.
@NoHope Well Sony had their SOP a while ago. I don't think there will be another one until like August or September.
Now, its only Nintendo left for their showcase.
Give me a release window!
@NinjaNicky lol or when he’s shimmying across the bridge right pass the guard.. who isn’t gonna see or even feel a grown ass man right there at their feet 🤦♂️
This remake has no art direction at all. It looks like when you give student developers a task to recreate a game and they use nothing but pre-built engine assets and don't even bother to add any flavour to the work.
@anoyonmus
Yes, I am aware of that. Just hoping Sony gives us an insight whats in store for us til the end of 2025. The sooner the better.
It’s just soulless. The exact same gameplay as the original minus the entire art style.
I thought it looked very cool and I'm looking forward to playing it at some undetermined point in the future.
Seems like it could still be a very long way out given not even a year was mentioned for a release window.
All the "soulless" talk is so nonsensical. It's the same look and feel with higher poly count, hd textures and more realistic lighting. Even the colour grading is as the original. If you want to do the whole, kojima isn't involved so it ain't good thing at least be somewhat objective and point out something that's not just pure projection. One could also say the entire look of death stranding is also soulless because it doesn't look like kojima in the PS2 era. Also, the backwards crawl implies to me that the game is having gameplay and quality of life improvements.
Man, many sound like bunch of whiny edge-lord connoisseurs.
However, when are we finally getting the original msx games remade!? That always would have made the most sense to me.
Wait. Those CQC and transition from crawling to roll over and back to crawling feels like i've seen it in MGS 5. Did Konami just reused it from MGS 5?
Yeah i'm not sure if i want to buy this if there's nothing new outside prettier graphic...
Wow terrible trailer, makes the game look SO generic. Without Kojima at the helm I have a feeling that this remake will be a “meh” at best. In this moment, it’s a pass from me. But we’ll see…
This is 100% a remaster and not a remake. False advertising at best, all the gameplay movements look exactly the same as they did in the original.
Safe to say they add "green filter" as a pre-order bonus?
Still hiding, sokolov (only top head), eva, and the other I see
@tameshiyaku
Yeah these comments are hilarious. It's the original game exactly but with modern graphics and slight qol improvements. Guess I'll enjoy this by myself while everyone else complains
@truerbluer That's what's missing, I didn't understand why it felt flat, it was missing something and I think that's it.
It kind of looks like a paint by numbers art style. I loved this back in the day so still excited for it.
Why does this look so meh? The idea of a remake to MGS3 sounds amazing on paper.
@Arminillo it's like with silent hill 2:
Gameplay looks smooth in trailer: "they made it a dumb action game, overpowered James and don't get what silent hill is about"
Gameplay looks janky (or more like the original) in trailer footage: "that looks so janky and bad, is this just a reskin,..."
There's no winning with stupid. People just like to judge prematurely, belittle the work of others and bash into their echo chambers.
@UltimateOtaku91 Considering Xbox every year don't show any games I guess it had to happen sooner or later.
Alot were 3rd party showings though.
But still think PlayStation has took the foot off the gas, even if games are coming from next year, at what point do PlayStation pull the trigger to keep PlayStations sales up.
I guess though PS5 are selling like hot cakes still so are they just holding out until sales start to dip and then throw out the announcement we all know are coming.
The strange one from Xbox was the whole new hardware, that was a strange one.
No disc version is a bit late, esp when the console isn't selling well so now they've added another SKU to their line up.
While PlayStation smartly decided too, streamline and make 2 SKU with a detachable disc drive.
Why are the comments so negative? Looks great to me and very faithful so far. People are complaining that it's just the same but with better graphics but isn't that what you all usually want? If it's different like FF7, you complain. If it's the same like this, you complain. What's the deal?
@Cloud39472 Poor trailers when metal gear solid used to have the best advertising and teasing trailers. Depends if you are used to the old e3 days I suppose, but that could of been army man 3 in the jungle. Felt really generic when kojima had the most insane story telling.
@Jswift56 It was a fairly basic trailer, I'll give you that. I don't think Kojima should be put on a pedestal the way he is when he's made some pretty glaring mistakes himself in the past. He's a brilliant visionary but he's always needed someone to reign him in a bit.
Anyway, I'll reserve judgement till I see a proper story trailer with The Pain, The End, The Sorrow, Ocelot etc.
My favourite MGS game. Hope they do it justice.
It SHOULD look like the original! if some hack tries to reimagine Kojima's game, there's -zero- chance of me buying this.
@Cloud39472 agree, he needs a producer and an editor
Also, why was there so much more good will towards the look of the pachinko machine!? Did that look "more Kojima"?
