God is real, as Beyonce would say. And she’d be damn right, because Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is coming to PS4 later this year. The bundle includes the following stone-cold classics: X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom: Clash of Superheroes, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. You’ll also get The Punisher as icing on the cake.
As you’d expect of a compilation like this, there’ll be original artwork, music, upgraded training modes, and other bonus features added to the bundle – if you already own the Capcom Beat-‘Em-Up Bundle, for example, you’ll have a good idea of what to expect.
These are some of the most beloved fighting games ever made, so we can’t wait to revisit them on PS4 when the compilation drops later this year.

One of the biggest announcements of the year for me.
There was all this campaigning for MVC2 to come back but what I wanted was a collection from X-Men Children of the Atom all the way up to MVC2. And now I can finally get them.
Is this one of those games where a PS5 version isn’t necessary because a PS4 is more than capable of running it?
@WhiteRabbit I'm guessing that's the case. That's what Capcom seems to be doing with most of its recent remasters.
@WhiteRabbit I think it's probably more to do with time and budget really.
@WhiteRabbit I don't think a native PS5 version is really needed. It'll play great on both PS5 and PS4 here, so makes sense.
@AdamNovice @Bentleyma makes great sense, larger market, easier to get that ROI.
I'm one of the few that doesn't like really any of Capcom's VS titles but I know there are many happy players out there with this announcement so good for them. No need to drag out the ol' PS3 for MVC2 anymore!
My childhood! I remember playing X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom with my uncle and cousins back in the PS1 days. So happy we're finally getting a new collection
All we need now are Rival Schools and the Tatsunoko games to be ported on modern consoles as well.
I'll buy this one. I enjoyed X-Men CotA, MSH, X-Men vs SF, and The Punisher. But i never get the chance to play MvC 1 & 2 and MSH vs SF. So this collection is my chance to try these 3 games as well nostalgia with the other games.
Good thing there will be a physical release because i'm not gonna buy it if it's digital only.
Are you kidding me they just casually bring MVC2 like it's no big deal 😳 this is the biggest day one of the year for me! Any one of these games sold by themselves would be huge, thanks Capcom!
No PS5 release?....wow
That would not make Sony happy as they are trying so hard to move people away from the PS4 even by skipping Lego Horizon just on PS5 and Switch neglecting PS4 owners.
One of the highlights for me. Its MAHVEL BABY!!
They could've gotten away with just releasing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 alone honestly. Great announcement.
This is the kind of arcade fighting compilations I love. Bring them back with a bunch of cool features.
@Llamada This game doesn't have Xbox One or Series S/X version either.
Really glad to see this release. MVC2 in particular has a weird time running on some emulators sometimes so it's great to have an official version readily available for players. Even if it took this long lol
'ISS MAHVEL BAYBEE!!!'
'OH HE'S SO PRINGLES, WHERE YO CURLEH MUSTACHE AT'
'YOU WANNA LEARN HOW TO DO A [REDACTED] INFINITE!?'
WE ARE LEVELS OF BACK PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT UNATTAINABLE OH MY GOD
I just need to know when I can pre-order a physical version probably 2
Hopefully this means We can get a Capcom vs SNK Collection in The future.
No Xbox version... I'll allow it.
Only joking but I'll definitely pick this up when it releases.
I'm gonna take this for a ride
I remember I had X-Men vs Street Fighter on PlayStation. Man, that version was awful. PS was not designed to have that type of game 😂. Very much looking forward to this.
MVC2 HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM LIMBO!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This made my day, goosebumps the entire trailer! Sad my Dreamcast copies of MvC and MvC2 will probably take a hit.
Wow dreams do come true. I was literally searching the web last night thinking there was bound to be a MvC2 version for at least steam that I could purchase. This is the best news of the year so far. My Cyclops and Ryu teamups are back. Now if they can kindly give me some news on powerstone 2.
@shonenjump86 MvC on the PS1 was very disappointing, let alone pocket fighter which basically only offered the arcade game barely... The Saturn was the king of 2d at that time, only superseded by the Dreamcast really, which did have the capability to do decent 2d but wasn't exploited as much as everyone was going 3d at that point (except street fighter 3 3rd strike, street fighter alpha, capcom Vs snk 2 and the glorious Dreamcast arcade stick). MvC2 on the Dreamcast will be hard to beat, the single player mode getting all the characters will be hard to beat. Not sure that will come in this version as it's probably going to be the nanomi port rather than the DC one, but I can hope!
Day 1 for me if the ports right that's my biggest question for damn sure I can't believe they just announced it like they did, I can't wait to play MvC1 again THE ARCADE VERSION
I had it on PS1 and it was a stripped out joke of a game you couldn't even swap out your character during the fight. The game was slow and hard to pull off stuff I don't even think you could do cross over supers as well I never managed to pull one off
Now I just need Alien Vs Predator Arcade if this can happen surly that could next
@Hundred_Hand_Slap It depends on the port they use as the DC versions were Arcade perfect
Well I think I'll just have to buy this out of principle!
Children of the Atom was one of the go to arcade games my mate and I played alot back in the day, so will be wonderful to dive back in.
So is Norimaro gonna be in the collection?
@Nakatomi_Uk what did they use for MvC Origins and MvC2 on PS3?
This is golden!
This is a sign that Capcom can develop a sequel without restrictions for next year sequel.
Ill buy one digital and one physical to keep it sealed
@Llamada i mean there doesn't really need to be , i'm sure it will run better on the ps5 but having a native ps5 and ps4 version would be pointless.
@twitchtvpat : Having a PS5 and PS4 version is pointless?
So are you saying there's no need for PS5 native games?
The punisher in there is amazing.i remember all those capcom arcade games.word up son
@Ashina yeah Rival Schools was so good. Hoping disney and capcom can get other games getting re-released like Alien Vs Predator arcade.
@R-Soub are you talking about the character restrictions? Like when they tried to say that we don't need wolverine and magneto, other mcu characters play the same...
This is absolutely fantastic. I dreamed of this collection and it's amazing they are doing it.
@Llamada settle down that's not what they are saying. This is about having mvc2 available. Pay attention next time.
@Beetlebum91 Yeah
@Blofse I always wanted a Sega Saturn back in the day but never got a chance to get one. Luckily I still have my Dreamcast, still have MvC1 and 2 along with it.
It's said here multiple times already. But just for the slim chance some suits at Capcom are looking at this comment section: BIGGEST RELEASE OF THE YEAR. Absolutely epic.
What no PS5 version! I'm not buying a PS4 for this!!!! Outrageous
@MrMagic it's an xbox 360ngas been for years 😊
@nedbvai Some of them were delisted on Xbox a decade ago. Like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Origins etc.
https://delistedgames.com/marvel-vs-capcom-origins/
@Llamada Sony haven't tried hard to move people away from PS4 at all! 😂
@Blofse Agreed. The Saturn was the absolute king for amazing 2D fighters. The Dreamcast was up there too if you have a region free system.
So many AMAZING games for both platforms. And that Saturn controller...........😍
@__jamiie And yet Sony neglects PS4 gamers from getting Lego Horizon while Switch and PC gamers will get to enjoy it.
For those that never played it, don't sleep on MvC1! It is a great game and imo plays better than MvC2.
@No_Allegiance where did i say that? these are older games and look the same if it was on ps4 or ps5. newer games would clearly benefit having a native ps5 version.
