Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster Is Reportedly 'Real and Happening'

If they can just release War of the Lions with the slowdown fixed that'd honestly be enough for me.

Lol this rumor has been reported for years but nothing happened. But maybe this time it's true after Yoshi-P said recently about time they make a new FF Tactics.

I love FF Tactics though, definitely in my top 3 best FF. I wish more FF has Tactics world building, story, and characters. But a lot of FF fans showed their dislike for FF 12 and 16, which was inspired by Tactics.

Please SE, enough with the teasing already and announce the remaster. Hopefully it will be the War of the Lions edition being remastered too

@WhensDinner Yeah really. There's no definitive version of the game, and that needs to change. One of my favorites.

@PuppetMaster I don’t think being inspired by tactics was 16’s biggest problem. It was generic, too linear and not challenging enough.

Very happy about it. Alongside Xenogears it's one of my favorite rpg's of all time.
I'm really gonna need new content and graphics to play again though. I am swamped with games and i already beat tactics 3 or 4 times and kind of did all there was to do.

I am more excited about the prospect of a sequel.

@WhensDinner There's a ROM hack that fixes the slowdown and a couple other bugs with the game. After ~300 hours with the PS1 version from my childhood and ~200 hours on the PSP with the physical UMD spinning away in the little drive, playing the ROM hack through PPSSPP on a PC hooked up to my TV has been the definitive way to play. A few little graphics tweaks and internal resolution scaling, and it looks way better than it has any business looking. The new release would have to be a full on HD-2D refresh like Star Ocean 2 to move the needle versus what's available now.

I have been patiently waiting for a long time. Tactics Ogre Reborn was amazing and I spent 210 hours in it. Final Fantasy Tactics was my first ever Tactical RPG way back on PS1 and I would buy a remaster/remake in an instant. I hope they do the same art style as TO:R because I really liked the aesthetic of it. Took me back to playing on PS1.

How is he allowed to leak an unannounced game? What an unprofessional attitude coming from a journalist. Now he wants to be both a journalist and a cool cat leaker of the interwebs? Laughable. Square Enix should not let it be. He's probably trying to pull attention to himself because of his book release.

@Nem We ABSOLUTELY need at bare minimum a port of Xenogears on current PlayStation consoles, if not a loving remaster. My personal favorite RPG of all time!
