Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, which covers the game's various modes. It sounds like it's going to be a pretty big game, boasting a lot of single-player stuff alongside an obviously massive roster of playable characters.

As you'd expect, there is a story mode of sorts. Split across eight main characters, the so-called Episode Battle has you fight through key moments from the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super storylines, with the action taking place between full cutscenes.

However, the twist is that you can actually make decisions during these scenes that change how the Dragon Ball timeline pans out. For example, as Goku, you can choose to chase after Raditz alone. There's even a clip in this trailer that shows Goku going Super Saiyan when he's up against Great Ape Vegeta.

Next up is Custom Battle, which houses original scenarios. What's more, you can create your own scenarios — complete with cutscenes — customising things like player characters, opponents, stages, and even gameplay details like damage scaling and special conditions. Once you're done, you can upload your scenarios online for other players to download and (hopefully) enjoy. It sounds really cool.

However, it turns out that there's a downside to Zero looking so graphically impressive. We've got confirmation that the game does have local multiplayer, but it's limited to just one stage: the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. A real shame, but at least it split-screen versus hasn't been removed entirely.
