As is commonly the case with first-party releases made available with Sony’s PS Plus Premium service, inventive PS2 shooter Ghosthunter and legendary PSP platformer Daxter will ship with Platinum Trophies.

The former game will pack a total of 21 gongs, and will largely require you to beat a variety of bosses, and work your way to the conclusion of the campaign. How Long to Beat pegs the 2003 title’s length at about 10 hours.

Daxter, meanwhile, has an enormous 43 Trophies, and once again requires you to work your way through the main campaign. You’ll also need to earn a gold medal on a minigame, and collect at least 500 Precursor Orbs. Again, How Long to Beat reckons the story takes roughly eight hours to beat.

While some third-party titles have been adding Trophies recently, it looks like there’ll be no gongs for LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, the third retro game scheduled to be added as part of PS Plus Premium’s big June update, available today.

These "classic" offerings are so, so poor. What the hell is Ghosthunter?

There are some massive long forgotten IPs begging to be released. Sony is really taking the piss with the massive price hike and then hyping up two or three okay to meh games as justification.

@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy - Ghosthunter is actually a long forgotten IP from Sony, so much so that people don't know it's a Sony IP. The game was developed by Sony's Studio Cambridge at the time.

@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy The quantity is poor, but I think the quality games on offer this month is actually very solid. I think the unfortunate reality is that we're going to be very limited in terms 'big name' titles we all grew up with as we're living in the age of re-releases and developers have their own, more profitable plans for much of their old library.

That being said, while you may not have heard of Daxter or Ghosthunter, they are gems from Sony's own library and worth a look at if you're interested in the history of Playstation.

I actually want to see these kinds of games on the service more than the big headline first party titles like Sly and God of War, the reason being that those major series received high quality remasters on PS3 which I'd much rather see ported. It would cost more on Sony's end, but I think they deserve them and could turn a profit if priced correctly. For instance, I would love a God of War I, II, COO, GOS collection rather than straight emulations of the originals.

@AK4tywill oh sorry I don't disagree, I want hidden gems 100%. But where is Resistance? Or Fighting Force? Parasite Eve? Sony can afford to make deals with the third party companies - they've increased the price of PS+ by what, 30-40% without really changing the offerings.. they've also split PS Now into two tiers, and call PS4 remasters as "classics"

Disappointed that the LEGO game didn't get trophies. With the older games getting patched last week. I thought we might be on the way to seeing third party games getting them on the regular.
