It’s become something of a summer tradition for Genshin Impact to beat the heat with a time-limited map, and this year is no different. As part of the Summertide Scales and Tales update, due out on 17th July, developer HoYoverse will be sending Travellers to Simulanka – a new time-limited realm populated by origami animals and clockwork figurines.

The press release reveals: “Together with Kirara, Nilou, Navia, and the Wanderer, players can explore the enchanting landscapes, lend a hand to resolve an impending crisis, as well as uncover the truth and surprises of this magical world.”

In addition to the main storyline, you’ll also be able to participate in various seasonal minigames to unlock rewards, including feline courier Kirara and her new phantom burglar-inspired outfit. Those of you who have Nilou in your lineup will also be able to purchase a discounted floral-themed dress for her as well.

And if you don’t have Nilou, then she’ll be getting a rerun in the first phase of the update alongside well-dressed weapons wielder Navia. New five-star Polearm user Emilie, a perfumer from Fontaine, will headline the second round of banners.

The new update will also bring with it some important quality of life upgrades, as HoYoverse continues to bring Genshin Impact in line with its other games, like Honkai: Star Rail. For example, it’ll now be possible to accrue Encounter Points over time, and these can be used to complete Daily Commissions, so you don’t have to waste too much time fulfilling your daily tasks. In addition, bosses will now respawn every 10 seconds.

One final thing to note is that this is the final update before new region Natlan is introduced at some point in August, and the developer has teased a first look at what Travellers can expect when they get there. Three new characters have been revealed, as well as some new traversal options. More will be revealed in the coming weeks.
